About New Beginnings in Olivet Michigan

We believe in community and strive to use our resources to reach the lost and those in need. We believe knowing those in our community and giving to others are the greatest things we can do to support and grow the Kingdom for Christ.

We are part of the Assemblies of God, and believe and follow the Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths.

                                                                                                       Assemblies of God

Our 16 Fundamental Truths

The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental Truths is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10 [KJV/NIV]; Acts 2:42 [KJV/NIV]). The phraseology employed in this Statement is not inspired nor contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be essential to a full-gospel ministry. No claim is made that it covers all Biblical truth, only that it covers our need as to these fundamental doctrines.

  1.  The Scriptures Inspired
  2.  The One True God
  3.  The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ
  4.  The Fall of Man
  5.  The Salvation of Man
  6. The Ordinances of the Church
  7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
  8. The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit
  9. Sanctification
  10. The Church and Its Mission
  11. The Ministry
  12. Divine Healing
  13. The Blessed Hope
  14. The Millennial Reign of Christ
  15. The Final Judgment
  16. The New Heavens and the New Earth

Projects & Outreach

We have two primary projects focused on reaching the lost and those in need. One project is supporting the students in our community who are away from home, and the second is supporting others in the community with spiritual and physical needs.

We also believe being a part of the community is critical to knowing them and them knowing us. So throughout the year we participate in local events - festivals and parades - that give us opportunities to reach others we might not otherwise have the opportunity to meet, and invite them into the family of God.

Olivet Student Outreach

Throughout the school year we set up and supply students at the college with personal needs, including but not limited to clothing, cleaning supplies, and basic hygiene supplies, all for free.

We also have two weekly services, one called Encounter on Wednesday nights at 6 pm for youth aged 13 to 18, and one called GAP on Thursday nights at 6:30 pm for college and young adults ages 18-28.

GOSERVE

We partner with GoServe to obtain and help provide items needed by those in the community. This allows us to provide items like furniture, appliances, baby needs, and personal hygiene for those who might not otherwise be able to afford those items.

Festivals and Parades

We participate in events in our hometown of Olivet, Michigan as well as surrounding communities to make Jesus known.

  • Olivet Fireman's Festival
  • Olivet University Comet Festival
  • Halloween Hotdog and Bible Giveaway
  • Marshall City Christmas Parade
  • Olivet Christmas Parade
